Chapter One

As I was writing this post I was reminded about a line from the movie You’ve Got Mail.
Joe Fox is e-mailing Kathleen Kelly and he says, “Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”
This is how I felt on Friday which I opened a new word document and typed:
Blue: Book Three of the MacLellan Sister’s Trilogy
I could barely contain my excitement when I typed those words. I’ve been editing and polishing the first two books in the series, Old and New, and Borrowed until they sparkle like diamonds and finally I can write Grace’s story. In all honesty I’ve been writing and re-writing the opening pages, in my head, for weeks. Hopefully I’ve nailed it. A spoiler alert the majority of of this book will take place in Scotland when Grace takes a solo vacation to the family farm. She’s going to have tough decisions ahead of her while on the path to finding love.
When I was talking to GF this week I realized I’ve written two (70k+ words) books in less than nine months. Holy cow and that doesn’t even take into account all the editing and rewriting I’ve done. Like most romance authors we also hold down full-time jobs to boot. And now, I’m ramping up to get the last book, of similar length written and the editing process started.
So, to get back to the planning in my head, I know the beginning and ending but the middle will come to me as I keep my butt in the chair and fingers flying over the keyboard. I can’t wait to share Jamie, Kenzie and Grace’s stories with you. But sadly you’ll need to wait a little longer to hold the books in your hands. I promise to keep you updated on my progress.
