And now a simple recipe for a delicious taste of Scotland.
Scones
3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup Sprite
½ cup dried blueberries
Glaze:
½ cup confectionary sugar
1-2 teaspoons of lemon juice – depending on the drizzle consistency
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
Place flour in a large mixing bowl, combine with heavy cream and Sprite. The dough will be sticky. Turn out onto a floured board and knead in additional flour until smooth.
Using your hand flatten the dough to be about 1” high. Using a floured biscuit cutter cut into 20 rounds, or if you’d like cut into squares. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet with them just barely touching. Bake 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown and easy to pull apart.
Drizzle with glaze and enjoy.
This month I’d like to introduce you to Ginny Frost, who is a part of my romance writers group. She has released a very steamy novella and another to be released on June 10.
So, if you like your romance with a lot of sizzle and heat take a peek under the covers of The Bar Scene.
But now Ginny answers a few questions:
As a new author how do you react when someone says they enjoyed your book?
The whole business of publishing is still an emotional ride for me. I can’t believe people want to read my stories. My second book, Swindled, Oakwood Tavern 2, will be released on June 10. I’ve done a bit of promo for the pre-sale on Facebook. A friend from high school posted a comment that she can’t wait to read my next book and ordered it right away. I cried.
No kidding. I c-r-i-e-d.
What’s next for you? Will you continue to write about the Oakwood Tavern series or do you have something else planned?
I have one more book planned for the Oakwood Tavern series, Stranded. I have a Christmas novella contracted that hopefully will be out in November or December. After that, I plan to do more uptown in Iverton to The Grand Arms Hotel.
Now back to what is happening in the new future.
For those of you near Cincinnati I will be at Lori Foster’s Reader Author Get Together June 7-8.
I will have a limited supply of books but if you plan on attending I’ll be signing on Friday afternoon. If you’re in town stop by, the author signings are free to the public, both Friday and Saturday. http://readerauthorgettogether.com/about/#bookfairs
